Camps

RSEC offers regular camps and clinics throughout the year with home and outside coaches and instructors. Camp sessions generally run for 3 days and can be overnight sessions or day camp sessions. Campers enjoy a fun, safe experience that they will never forget. Our camps combine horsemanship (working with and around the horses), theory, games and riding time with an emphasis on safety and lots and lots of fun. We provide a safe, friendly learning environment with a 1:3 ratio of camp counselors to students. Participants must be 4 years of age or older. We also welcome adults to attend our camps and clinics.

Parents must assure that students are appropriately outfitted with breeches or well-fitted pants and riding boots or boots with a heel (not a wedge). Helmets can be provided by the stable, but if the student brings their own it must be a certified ASTM approved riding helmet.

We offer camps & clinics for students at any level. You can bring your own horse or pre-book one of our many school horses.

Introductory/Beginner Level

Beginner is designed specifically for total beginners who have not had any previous lessons or who are just beginning with their riding career. This is a group that covers grooming, horse handling and tacking skills. Students will learn to prepare their own horses for each riding lesson. Students will receive 2 riding lessons each day that will cover mounting, basic position, control at the walk and trot, and introduction to canter for those that are more experienced.

Intermediate Level

Intermediate is a group designed specifically for riders that are comfortable at all three gaits and are ready to start learning about lateral aids and gymnastic work over fences. They receive 2 lessons a day and will work on improving their existing skills and learning new skills to improve their riding.

Advanced Level

Advanced is a group designed specifically for advanced riders that are going well over fences, and will work on improving their skills both on the flat as well as over fences. Two lessons a day will help work on individual goals and improvements for both the rider and their horse.
